Eginton Alignment - Move smarter, Feel more
What Is It?
Eginton Alignment is a way of educating individuals about their physical structure. It’s simple to learn, and it works. It is a series of exercises that can help you to release tension, heal injuries, and move more elegantly. This technique is useful to all people, whatever their profession, state of health, or body type. With practice these exercises re-align a person’s structure so well that an increase in strength, range of motion and flexibility is experienced, usually within 3-6 weeks. The practice itself becomes meditative and deeply calming. Eginton Alignment is meant to be learned and then practiced by oneself, without a teacher. We have found that when people are able to create personal good body structure, and maintain it by themselves, they feel whole, free, and creative.
Where Did It Come From?
Within Eginton Alignment Alexander, Feldenkrais, and Gindler core concepts are at work, combined with Margaret’s own discoveries of ways to use those concepts in her exercises and hands-on-work. Her system was developed to provide persons a way of discovering and improving their own alignment and ease in movement, and a daily practice in physical training and self-care.
